The biography of Lorenzo Medici, as told by the venerable William Roscoe. In a Harrow School Prize Binding, decorated with a brilliant fore-edge painting portrait of Medici imposed alongside Florence (complete with Il Duomo). The prize was presented to Richard Ord on his graduation as a D.D.. The plate is from headmaster Rev. Henry Montague Butler.

Physical Attributes -

Measures 22 x 14 x 3.25 cm. Leather with gilt tooling, and a blind stamped texture. Five raised bands to spine. All edges gilt (AEG). Fore-edge painting. Pages (1), frontis, xxii, 520, (1).

Condition -

See pictures. Shelf wear with some rubbing at edges and a few on boards. A little cracking at joints. Some sun fading. Bookplate on pastedown. A few pencil bookseller notes on the blank endpapers. Spots on plates and title page. Tissue guards in place. The rest of the text block is free of spots or annotations.
