1911 The Compleat Angler by Izaak Walton, in full green Moroccan leather with an onlay reproducing the endpaper design, 25 tipped-in color plates, signed by the illustrator and limited to 250 copies (limitation is the printing, there are not 250 copies of this binding).
1st released in 1653, just after the English Civil War, this work praising friendship, the countryside (pastoral) and (obviously) fishing must have been a welcomed respite from the turbulent times. Since, it’s been the favorite of many sportsman, often reprinted and I've been lucky to offer many different editions. This is the nicest copy I’ve yet offered.

See pictures. Tiny scuff (dot size) along fore-edge of front board, visible in picture (barely, because it's so small). Endpapers have yellowed a little, slight transfer onto facing page at front (rear side of illustrator signature page). Bookseller note on the back of the flyleaf, in pencil, stating limited. Also, the turn-ins have left an impression along the same endpapers. Else, a very nice, handsome copy of this beautiful classic.
