An attractive biography on Henri Quatre (the French king) bound wonderfully in straight-grain morocco red leather, with matching slipcase. There are four copies recorded in the world's libraries, per OCLC (418682188, 319997828), and based on the active time frame of the printer (etc.), they estimate it was printed circa 1820, although no date is given. With a frontis portrait of the king, and four other plates.

Measures approx. 12 x 7.8 x 1 cm, 12mo. Straight-grain morocco binding and slipcase with gilt decoration; both have attractive corner fleurons, with rolls of leaves extending as frames to diamonds at the center of the boards. The spine of the case has a rolled gilt interlinked chain. The spine of the book has a very attractive leafing and flowering spine of a plant. All edges gilt. Blue endpapers. Illustrated. Pages - 108, 
See pictures. Very attractive binding/slipcase! There is some rubbing, edge wear and marks to the slipcase. Bookbinding has some edge and corner wear also. Some soiling, thumbing and toning throughout the text block. Graphite price and corner missing from bottom of 1st blank unpaginated endpaper. Some dog-eared pages and a little foxing. Text block is a little shaken (a little space between some pages at the gutter). Tissue guards with foxing. Despite condition notes, an attractive and pleasing little book.
