The Iliad is an ancient Greek epic poem in dactylic hexameter, traditionally attributed to Homer. Set during the Trojan War, the ten-year siege of the city of Troy (Ilium) by a coalition of Greek states, it tells of the battles and events during the weeks of a quarrel between King Agamemnon and the warrior Achilles.

Condition of the Book
See pictures. Rebound in period style (vellum), with attractive endbands. Old ex-libris plate pasted to new endpapers. Loss of fore and bottom edge of title page repaired. A thumb mark on the foreedge of the text block. Occasional toning, spot, edge tear, and other evidences of age. Verso of last leaf (errors) has contemporary ownership inscription. For the first six leaves the verses are numbered (contemporary hand). Mostly a clean and strong little book though.
