1911 Slovakian Prayer Book, Naboznych Vylevov. Binding with bone, based on purported Mary apparition in Paris, with miraculous medals.
A beautiful and rare Slovakian prayer book, bound to reflect Mary's purported apparition in Paris, complete with three examples of the Miraculous Medal hanging from the front board (within is also a cloth that has been touched to the chair in which the apparition appeared). The inner border of the front board of the binding is also rich with bone fragments, including a cross in bone. The binding is black velvet with overlays of tin, celluloid, bone and a brass border. There is a central medallion of Mary on the front board. The prayer book is attributed to the Slovakian Roman Catholic Priest Andrej Radlinsky, an active and well-regarded participant in 19th century Slovakian development.

See pictures. Small chip at bottom right of spine. Some wear to brass. Some toning to pages. No writing. A few folded corners (small).
