Signed by Joseph Pennell! A handsome large lithograph from the early 20th century World War 1 series English War Work, by the well-regarded artist Joseph Pennell.
Measuring 63 x 47.5 cm, on woven French Ingres paper, with laid-lines easy to see.
I love the details in this piece. It's easy to see the furnace, the man pulling a pot, a pot being taken to be cast, the casting, the cart system, the overhead crane, etc.. And the lighting is awesome, going from the bright white of the furnace, to the dark recesses of an industrial building.
Condition -
See pictures. Almost perfect. Paper is bright white. There is a (thumb?) at top right edge margin/edge about 1 cm square. There is one rust spot at the hand-written title at the bottom edge. Else, very good.
